World's funniest cookbook now available for your laughing, cooking pleasure
Cooking wasn't a laughing matter - until now.
Comedian Thomas Brown has successfully combined cooking and laughing in his new, one-of-a-kind cookbook From the Stage to the Stove. Dubbed the "World's Funniest Cookbook" it contains the favorite recipes and jokes of popular stand-up comedians from across the country.
From Jeff "you might be a redneck" Foxworthy's recipe for Mama's Meatloaf to Michael Winslow's (of Police Academy fame) Tasty Steak, these comedians, their recipes and their accompanying jokes will not only help you serve up a good home cooked meal sure to please your palate, but they will also tickle your funny bone.
Brown, creator of From the Stage to the Stove, is himself a comedian and a Tampa resident.. He came up with the idea for the cookbook because he wanted to do something different.
"It's the only cookbook that doesn't belong in your cupboard; you can leave it out for your friends to read," Brown says.
Brown began his comedy career, much to the chagrin of his teachers at Hillsborough High School
in Tampa, Fla, as the class clown. After high school, he went on to become a nationally touring headliner and one of the most sought-after entertainers for the largest cruise line in the world,
Carnival Cruise Line. In fact, he has graced the stage with the likes of Foxworthy and even served as the opening act for Luther Vandros and Earth Wind & Fire.
The 200-page book From the Stage to the Stove includes the recipes of 100 comedians, including Brown's own recipe for Aunt Blanche's Sweet Potato Pie.
The first edition of From the Stage to the Stove is now in print, and future editions, with new comedians, new jokes and new recipes, are planned. From the Stage to the Stove sells for $20 and would make a unique holiday gift for that difficult-to-shop-for someone on your holiday list. This book is not available in bookstores, but can be purchased or ordered on-line at Brown's Web site at
www.thomasbrown.com.
